Lana S. Coop attended the Iranian fair-trade called Project that took part in Iran from the 24th to the 27th of April. This event, that has fulfilled its third edition, arrived in an special moment; as the economical opening of this Asian country (of nearly 83 million habitants and the progressive raising of the international trade interdiction) will take it stance as one of the countries with the biggest potential for the coming years.
Three members of Lana S.Coop attended the fair-trade with an expedition organized by AFME and constituted by five Spanish companies. The idea is to make something known and try to make contacts to get distributors in the area in the future. “The truth is that it was of use to make contacts, but the negative part was that now prices are very low. In any case, there was an interest for our product but we will have to continue working, as this has only been the first contact. It is needed more time to get results”, explains Javier Marcos, responsible for exportations in Lana S. Coop.
The presence of Iran is a symptom that Lana S.Coop, which its production is being increased, looks for new markets outside Europe. The internationalization keeps calling the door and the next date is the BATIMAT fair-trade in Paris, in November of this year.
